Video marketing is when you create videos to promote a product or service.
B. What is the Purpose of Video Marketing?
Video marketing is a “must” in today’s online world.
Video marketing helps your “fans” connect with you more.
People also love to put a face to a name.
2. Requirements?
Have a smartphone or camcorder to shoot the videos.
Have an outlet to post your videos, e.g., on your blog, Facebook, Instagram, or YouTube channel.
3. How to Do It?
Make sure you have enough light when shooting the video. You can also shoot the video outdoors for natural light. Make sure you are looking into the light. You don’t want to have light behind you.
When possible, use a tripod. You don’t want to be shaking your smartphone when shooting your video. Keep still when you’re shooting your video.
Make sure you are using widescreen dimensions, i.e. 16×9
Make sure there’s something in the background, not just a white background. It makes the video look more professional.
Plan your video and your CTA (call to action) beforehand, i.e., “Take Action Now” or “See You On the Other Side”!
Shoot a test video first to make sure everything is working.
You can also do a screen recording, e.g., for tutorials, using PowerPoint on KeyNote. Make sure your audio quality is good.
When doing Screen Recording, shoot in widescreen ~ 1024×576.
Produce your videos in widescreen. For tutorials, use 850×400. If you’re using a camera, then use 640×360.
When possible, use Zoom and Pan, which helps to keep your video’s download dimensions to 850×400. This also helps your audience to focus on what you’re trying to show them.
Avoid long intros. 2~3 seconds is enough.
