🌺 1. Hi Everyone! Today, I’m going to talk about the fourth step in building your affiliate marketing online business: and that is, to build your email list.

🌺 2. Why Build Your Email List?

✅ a. Your email list is the only asset that you own. Your website can get taken down. Your social media accounts can be closed.

✅ b. Your email list becomes a traffic driver for your blog. It also creates a direct and personal connection with your audience, nurtures leads, and drives conversions.

🌺 3. How to Build Your Email List from Your Website?

✅ a. Add a “Sign Up” form to your website. Create a lead magnet (e.g., free eBook), and add an “exit intent’ popup. Now, start driving traffic to your blog. Start with free organic methods, e.g., optimizing your SEO and using social media advertising.

✅ b. Add an autoresponder sequence (i.e., a welcome series of emails) telling your subscribers who you are, so that they form a personal connection with you.

✅️ a. This promotes your brand awareness.

❌️ b. Do not use Gmail, Yahoo, or Hotmail, etc. Also, in February 2024, there will be new inbox protection rules from Gmail and Yahoo when it comes to sending bulk emails to your subscribers.

🌺 ️5. What Are the Best Email Practices When Sending Bulk Emails to Your Subscribers?

✅️ a. Sending emails with your own custom domain, as opposed to using free email domains like Gmail.

✅️ b. Authenticating emails with SPF, DKIM, and DMARC.

✅️ c. Most common autoresponder companies, such as Aweber or GetResponse, will perform email authentication on your behalf. If you’re with another autoresponder company, check to see if they also do that.

✅️ d. Otherwise, you will have to authenticate your email yourself. This requires technical skills. You are better off just using your website domain’s email address. Besides, it looks more professional that way.

✅️ e. Keep spam complaints below 0.3%. Pay close attention to your spam complaints and follow best practices that will minimize them.

✅ ️f. Contact your audience regularly so they don’t forget that they have subscribed to your email list.

✅️ g. Allow easy one-click unsubscribe and honor unsubscribing requests within two days.

✅️ h. Make your emails personalized and user-friendly.

❌ ️i. And, lastly, do not buy email lists. If you start adding strangers from a list you bought into your autoresponder series, then that’s the best way to get your emails unsubscribed, and marked as spam.
