Blogging is creating a website that represents you which will help your readers to connect with you.
It also helps you to promote your products and services and build an email list of subscribers.
💡 Make it a top priority to have your own blog!
2. Requirements?
Domain Name and Hosting Service: I use and highly recommend BlueHost or D9 Hosting to purchase your domain name and host it.
CMS (Content Management System): Use WordPress.com. Do not use the free WordPress.org since you do not own the domain name, and if their rules change at any time, you may lose everything on your blog. Manage this through your BlueHost cPanel.
WordPress Theme: I use Optimize Press 3.0, which allows me to create web pages, build product funnels, create membership websites, etc.
Autoresponder: I use Aweber to help me collect an email list of people who subscribe to my blog. It is the oldest and most responsible autoresponder service. My mentor, John Thornhill, also uses and recommends Aweber as well.
3. How to do it?
You will first have to purchase a domain name that reflects you. The best one is to use your FirstNameLastName.com. If that is already taken, then try and find something with your name. e.g., I purchased HelensGuide.com as my domain name for this blog you are reading. I used to use BlueHost as my hosting company and purchased domain names through them as well.
Use WordPress as your CMS (Content Management System). It is easy to do this via BlueHost, or any other hosting company you use. John uses D9 as his hosting company. I recently switched to Hostinger because it’s more cost-effective, but just as fast. Check them out and see which one is more suitable for your needs. If you join Hostinger through my referral link, then you’ll get a 20% discount.
If you want to create squeeze/landing pages, sales funnels, membership websites, etc., choose Optimize Press 3.0 as your WordPress Theme, which I am using for this website as well.
Open an Aweber account and start building your email autoresponder series to send out emails to readers who subscribe to your blog.
If you want to learn the details on how to do all of this, join me with John’s “Partnership to Success” program, where he provides step-by-step videos and PDFs on creating your own successful online business.
Connect this with your Aweber autoresponder mailing list.
